The 106-acre preserve Nelson Woods was acquired by the Little Forks Conservancy in 2023. This preserve is largely forested, characterized by maple, oak, and beech, with groves of hemlock and pine also present. The preserve boasts approximately 1900 ft. of shoreline frontage along the Tittabawassee River. 

Next steps for the nature preserve include the development of a parking area and accessible trail as well as the rustic trail system.

Note: This preserve is currently CLOSED, as construction on the parking area is ongoing. Check back for updates on when the preserve will officially be open to the public.
